EU VAT number validation API

Check whether an EU VAT number is valid and active, and get the registered name and address where the member state publishes them.

B2B sales across EU borders depend on a valid VAT number. This endpoint checks a number with the country prefix (DK10150817, DE123456789) and returns whether it is valid, plus the registered name and address when the country publishes them.

Member-state backends are sometimes slow or unavailable. The endpoint retries temporary errors, and if the source is down you get an error and are not charged.

The calls

Each call returns 402 with the price until a payment is attached; an x402 client pays and retries automatically. Calls that fail are not charged. See Get started and the guide for bots and agents for code.
